The Charger women's basketball team placed five players on the GPAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Team, headlined by
Abby Lee, who was also named GPAC Freshman of the Year.
Mallie McNair and Lee earned First Team All-GPAC honors, while
Brooklyn Heineman,
Kenna Mongan, and
Taylor Sodeman were named All-GPAC Honorable Mention.
Lee, a freshman from Sioux City, Iowa, averaged 19.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in her first collegiate season. She ranked third in the GPAC in scoring, fifth in rebounds per game, and second in the conference in total blocks with 40. Lee led the Chargers with 561 total points this season and recorded a career-high 31 points against Hastings. Lee had 14 appearances with 20+ points and five double-doubles on the season.
McNair, a senior from Imperial, Nebraska, averaged 18.4 points per game while shooting 44.2% from the field and 35.3% from three-point range. She ranked fourth in the GPAC in scoring and led the conference in free throw percentage, converting 86.3% of her attempts. McNair scored a season-high 33 points against Morningside and hit a season-best five three-pointers earlier in the year against Dakota Wesleyan. She has now earned All-GPAC honors three times in her career.
Heineman, a sophomore from South Sioux City, Nebraska, averaged 9.3 points per, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. She ranked third in the GPAC with 79 steals and finished fifth in total assists with 108 on the season.
Mongan, a junior from Cherokee, Iowa, averaged 9.5 points per game and shot 38.3% from three-point range. She ranked sixth in the GPAC in three-point percentage and connected on 47 three-pointers this season. Mongan recorded two games shooting 4-for-5 from beyond the arc against Benedictine and Hastings.
Sodeman, a junior from St. James, Minnesota, averaged 8.9 points per game while shooting 47% from the field and grabbing 5.0 rebounds per contest. She recorded a career-high 16 points and 12 rebounds against Hastings earlier this season.
