The Charger women's volleyball team fell 4-1 against the RV Morningside Mustangs Wednesday evening in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Mustangs took the first two sets before the Chargers started to rally back in the third. With the contest tied at 15-15 in the middle of the third, BCU went on a 5-1 run capped off by a kill from
Tamika Eastman.
In a back-and-forth set four, the Chargers tied the set at 23-23 following a kill from
Brooklyn Voss. Morningside would take the final two points to close out the match.
Eastman led the Chargers in kills with 14 followed by
Caton Firkins' nine and
Aliyah Basham's seven.
Isabelle Lenz recorded two service aces while
Georgianna Wenzel recorded one.
Aubrey Hoeft notched six blocks in the match followed by Basham and Voss with four a piece.
Iwalani Beltran recorded a team-high 19 assists while
Kylie Hart recorded 15.
Avery Beller led the team in digs with 31 followed by Wenzel with 11 and Lenz with 10.
The Chargers fall to 6-5 (0-1 GPAC) and will host the #6 Northwestern Red Raiders this Saturday inside the Newman Flanagan Center. The match is slated for 5:00 p.m.
