CHARGER BASEBALL ADD JOSHUA CULLIVER AND GLAVINE MATTHES TO COACHING STAFF

The Charger baseball team announced the hiring of Joshua Culliver as Assistant/Pitching Coach, and Glavine Matthes.
 
Culliver, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, recently served as a graduate assistant at Concordia University St. Paul in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned his master's degree in Exercise Science this past spring. The Golden Bears placed two starting pitchers on the All-Conference team this past spring. Culliver began his coaching career with the GRB North Star Baseball Club, working in youth development and coaching the 17U national team.
 
Culliver played collegiate baseball at the University of Minnesota, contributing to a 2018 Big Ten Regular Season and Conference Tournament Championship and an appearance at the 2018 NCAA Regional in Minneapolis. Culliver appeared in 60 games for the Golden Gophers and made 18 starts while recording 111 strikeouts and a career ERA of 4.60.
 
Matthes joins Briar Cliff after serving as an assistant coach at the New College of Florida where he assisted in the creation of a new athletics program and baseball program in their inaugural season as a member of College Baseball and as a member of the NAIA. Matthes as also served as a Visiting Clubhouse Assistant for the Milwaukee Brewers since May of 2022.
 
Matthes played collegiate baseball at Wisconsin Lutheran College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management with a minor in Spanish. His father Todd Matthes is an alumnus of Briar Cliff University and played baseball for the Chargers.
