The Charger softball team fell to the Concordia Bulldogs in Seward, Nebraska Friday evening.

Game one – L, 5-6

Skylar Bainter's one out single followed by
Rylee Cain's single put runners on first and second quickly for the Chargers. An error by the Bulldogs loaded the bases for the Chargers.
Georgia Krohn carded the game's first run, a two-out RBI single to right field to put BCU up 1-0.

In the top of the third, a
Kaela Persico Walk led to a RBI double from
Kylie Wilhelms to increase the Charger lead.
Montie Richter put the ball in play and hustled for a RBI single to give BCU a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs put together a strong third inning, taking a 4-3 lead following a three-run blast.

The Chargers regained the lead in the top of the fourth with a RBI double from Persico to kick off the scoring. Wilhelms' two RBI single to left center field put BCU up 6-4.

With a one run lead in the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs carded two runs in the final at bat to steal game one.

Game two – L, 3-8
Â
The Cliff trailed by four heading into the top of the fourth in game two. Persico led off the inning with a single to center field. Wilhelms followed up with a single to put two runners on board.

A sacrifice bunt from
Kaydence Kinder moved Persico and Wilhelms into scoring position. Richter capitalized on the scoring opportunity; an RBI single to left field to put the Chargers on the board.

Sydney Ebel reached base via error to card in Wilhelms. A RBI single from
Jessica James to right field cut the Bulldog lead to one.

James and Wilhelms both recorded two hits in the contest.

The Chargers slide to 7-19 (1-9 GPAC) and will return to Hubbard Park next Tuesday, as they host the Midland Warriors. Game one is slated for 3 p.m. with game two to follow shortly after.
