The Charger softball team split their doubleheader against the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers Wednesday at Historic Hubbard Park.

Game one - W, 6-5

The Tigers kicked off the scoring in the first at-bat, going up 1-0 after a Peyton Bagley home run. Trailing 3-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth,
Rylee Cain led off with a single to right field. A single from
Kaela Persico put runners on first and second with no outs.
Kylie Wilhelms pop-up forced the infield fly rule. Perisco and Cain advanced a base following an error.
Georgia Krohn hit a two RBI single to deep center field to cut the lead to one.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Chargers tied the game with a Persico's two RBI double. In the bottom of the six the Chargers would pull ahead,
Jessica James hit a RBI double to right field.

The Tigers carded a run in the top of the seventh and the game was tied up 5-5. Leading off the bottom of the seventh, Cain drew a walk and the game winning run is on first with no outs. Persico advanced Cain with a sacrifice bunt.

Cain finished the game with a perfect three-for-three and scored two runs. Persico and Krohn led the team with two RBIs.

Game two -L, 3-6
Trailing by one heading into the bottom of the fourth, Cain led off with a single.
Kylie Wilhelms hit a RBI triple to right field and the Chargers were on the board. A sac-fly from Kinder drove in Wilhelms and BCU took a 2-1 lead.

The Chargers trailed 6-2 heading into the final inning.
Skylar Bainter single to center field drove in Kinder and cut the lead to three with two outs. The Tigers forced a popup the final at bat to preserve the victory.

Cain finished the contest two-for-three at the plate. Bainter pitched a complete game and recorded four strikeouts.

The Chargers slide to 7-17 (1-7 GPAC) and will head to Concordia this Friday for a doubleheader in Seward, Nebraska. Game one is slated for 3 p.m. with game two to follow.
