The Charger softball team went 2-0 Friday afternoon, defeating Peru State 9-0 and Graceland 2-1 in Shawnee, Kansas.
Game one vs Peru State, W, 10-0
Georgia Krohn pitched a complete game shutout, scattering six hits across five in the Chargers 10-0. She also got it done in the batter's box, going 2-2 and drawing a walk and scoring a run.
Krohn in the bottom of the second inning recorded a one out single. The Chargers quickly loaded the bases with Sydney Ebel drawing a walk and Karina Cupples recording a single during their plate appearances. Jessica Jame's recorded a single and carded two runs to put The Cliff up early.
Skylar Bainter put the Chargers up 5-0 after her three-run blast. The Chargers tacked on another run as Kylie Wilhelms recorded a RBI single.

BCU added two more runs in the bottom of the eighth. Cupple's RBI single followed by James' sacrifice bunt gave the Chargers a 8-0 lead.
Audrey Evola capped off the scoring for BCU with a RBI on a fielder's choice.

Game two vs Graceland, W, 2-1
The Chargers scored in the bottom of the first as Kenadee Loew laid down a sacrifice bunt to drive in James. Graceland responded with a run in the next inning to tie the game.

Skylar Bainter pitched a complete game with four strikeouts and held the Yellow Jackets scoreless after allowing the early run.

Kaela Persico put the Chargers up in the bottom of the sixth, blasting one over the fence to give BCU a 2-1 lead.

The Chargers retired the side in order in the top of the seventh to secure the win.

James went two-for-three at the plate and scored a run. Rylee Cain and Ebel each recorded a hit in the contest.

Briar Cliff improves to 4-6 on the season and will return to action tomorrow as they play Graceland University and Park University in Shawnee, Kansas. Game one is slated for 1:30 p.m. with game two at 4 p.m.
