The Cliff opened the indoor track and field season with two Chargers recording personal best at the Wildcat Opener in Wayne, Nebraska Friday.
Maria Russell finished first in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:41.46 and set a new personal best.
Kristen Mika finished 13
th in the shot put with a mark of 32-09.50.
Caitlin Anderholm finished with 15
th with a best throw of 31-10.00. Mika also finished 17
th in the weight throw with a mark of 35-02.00.
Blessed Munashe Manyenga ran a time of 6.95 seconds in the 60-meter prelims to earn a spot in the final, where he improved to 6.94 and finished second overall.
Blake Hogancamp finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 47-07.75.
Jayson Rucker added two top 10 finishes for the Chargers. He placed seventh in the 200 meters in 22.56 and later took 10th in the 400 in 50.67. Rucker hit a new personal best in the 200-meter.
James Nagle placed 11th in the men's mile with a time of 5:16.90.
The Chargers will return to action on January 16 for the Mount Marty Invite and Multi.
