CHARGERS CRUISE TO 86-44 VICTORY OVER WARRIORS

The 5th ranked Charger women's basketball team cruised to an 86-44 victory over the Midland Warriors inside the Newman Flanagan Center. Four Chargers scored in double-figures in the contest.
 
A basket by Rachel Langel late in the first quarter sparked a 10-3 run to give the Chargers a 25-14 lead. A layup by Brooklyn Heineman gave the Chargers an 11-point lead heading into the second frame.
 
In the second quarter the Chargers increased the lead to 17, as Kennedy Benne knocked down a pair of threes alongside a basket from Langel.
 
A three from Kylie Sanger late in the fourth quarter extended the lead to 43.
 
Mallie McNair paced the Chargers with 17 points and three steals and shot 50% from the field and knocked down a pair of threes. Adrianna Webster, Benne, and Langel all chipped in 12 points. Langel grabbed a team high seven rebounds followed by Benne's six.

Brooklyn Heineman chipped in nine points and recorded three steals while shooting four-for-seven from the field.
 
The Chargers shot 45% from the field and knocked down eight threes in the contest. The Chargers converted 10 of their 12 free throw attempts. Briar Cliff scored 48 points and forced 17 turnovers and recorded 11 steals.

The Chargers improve to 17-3 (11-3 GPAC), and will return to action next Wednesday, traveling to Orange City, Iowa to take on the Northwestern Red Raiders. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
