The Charger women's soccer team dropped their GPAC season opener to the Tigers of Doane 3-1 in Crete, Nebraska Wednesday evening.
The Tigers got on the board early, as Sarah Kennedy-Croft found the back of the net three minutes into the contest to put Doane up 1-0.
Early in the contest, the Chargers created a chance on the attacking side, but
Manu Polachini's shot was saved by the Tigers' Virginia Johnson.
Doane kept up the early offensive pressure, scoring goals in the 14
th and 25
th minute of the contest.
Emily Moran in the 76
th minute netted the Chargers first goal to cut the lead 3-1.
Eyrun Vala Haradardottir lead the Chargers with five shots in the contest. BCU held a slim advantage on corner kicks 4-3.
BCU tallied 16 shots with seven on goal while the Tigers recorded just five shots and with only one coming in the second half.
The Chargers will look to rebound this Saturday, as they host the Broncos of Hastings. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
