CHARGERS PREPARE FOR BRONCOS

The Charger football team prepare to travel to Hastings, Nebraska for a clash with GPAC foe Hastings Broncos. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

FIELD GENERAL
Brock Saya has taken command of the Charger offense, averaging 206 yards through the air, ranking third in the GPAC. His five passing touchdowns is tied for second in the conference. Saya last game against the Tigers went 16-for-28 for 164 yards and two scores. Saya has connected with eight different receivers this season.
 
CHARGERS FRONT 7 VS HASTINGS OFFENSIVE LINE
 
The platoon of Charger defensive line continues to be the focal point, producing five sacks last contest. On the season they've generated 11 sacks in two games. Carlos Lopez from his 3-technique position lived in the Doane Tigers' backfield, recording 12 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and three sacks and earning himself GPAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors.
 
Defensive end Phillip Benjamin has set the edge in both the run and pass game, recording six tackles, a tackle for loss, and half of a sack last contest. True freshman Michael Casarez recorded his first sack against the Tigers last weekend. Milo Collier has played valuable snaps for the Cliff, chipping in half of a sack last contest. Nose tackle Lakey Martin helped limit the Tiger's rushing attack to under 50 yards.
 
Second level defenders are led by Brayden Pommier-Williams, who leads the team in tackles with 19 (13 solos). Johnny Bauser, Brett Tinker, Christian Reese, Max Rascon Jr., and Je Han King platoon in at linebacker.
 
The Hastings offensive line have given up four sacks all season (two each contest) while helping the Broncos average 212 yards a contest. QB Carson Kudlacek is completing 50% of his passes and has tossed one touchdown to four interceptions.
 
The lead back for the Broncos is Josh Ray, who has totaled 140 yards on 35 carries with three touchdowns.
 
CHARGER RECIEVERS VS BRONCOS' BACKEND
 
Steven Whiting played a pivotal role in The Cliff's win last weekend. The tight end hauled in three passes for 78 yards and found the endzone twice. Whiting's first touchdown pass came off a 68-yard strike, while his second touchdown came on a fade route on the goal line.
 
Jaiden Stowers leads the Chargers with 114 yards receiving. Stowers and Cory Carignan have shown to be dynamic play makers with the ball in their hands. The Cliff look to get them the ball through various motions and quick game to them out in space.
 
Kymani Fleurme has come along this season as BC's possession receiver. Fluerme has five catches for 73 yards and a score on the season, with majority of his catches coming in third-down situations.
 
The Broncos' secondary gave up 418 yards passing to Peru State in week one and 352 yards to the Red Raiders last week.
 
POUND THE ROCK
 
Workhorse Matthew Mason is averaging 92 yards from scrimmage so far this season. Mason leads the team in rushing with 148 yards on 50 carries this season. Chase Thomas last contest recorded one catch for six yards, while E'mond Pittman and Jeremy Koenck also spelling Mason.
 
The offensive line of Perry King, Isiah Williams, Maximus Hawarden, Eli Burns, Gordon Seppala, and Colten Lieburn paved the way to the Chargers to 272 yards per contest.
