RV Charger men's soccer team dropped their season opener to the visiting William Woods Owls 4-2 on Faber Field Thursday evening.
Charlie Williams put the Owl's on the board early, finding the back of the net off an assist from Kyle Kaemmerer nine minutes into the contest.
In the 21
st minute, the Cliff created a chance in the Owl's defensive side of the field and were awarded a penalty kick after drawing a foul inside the box. The GPAC's Co-Offensive Player of the Year from a season ago
Andrew Buchanan tied the contest after scoring on the penalty kick.
Williams in the 26
th minute notched his second goal of the match off an assist from Breck McGrail. The Owl's added goals in the 55
th and 68
th minute to take a 4-1 lead.
The Cliff cut the lead to 4-2 after a goal from
Filip Peters off an assist from Herman Toftevåg.
BCU will look to bounce back next Wednesday, as they host the visiting Columbia Cougars on Faber Field. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
