The RV Charger men's soccer team's late rally fell short, against the visiting 14
th ranked Columbia Cougars Wednesday afternoon on Faber Field. After surrendering two goals in the first half, the Chargers fought back in the second half.

The Cougars' Miguel Gonzalez scored in the second minute of the contest off an assist from Cooper Allen.

Columbia's Joshua Peterson added another goal in the 36
th minute after the Cliff turned the ball over on their defensive half.

In the 87
th minute, the Cliff scored off a set piece coming from a corner kick.
Filip Peters sent a high arcing cross into the box, that resulted in
Finlay Skilling sending a header to Herman
Toftevåg who scored on a header of his own to notch the Cliff's first goal. Â

Columbia was able to burn the clock down to take the 2-1 win.

Phillip Haenel in his first start at keeper for the Cliff recorded three saves.
Hugo Mariage recorded three shots with one on goal.
Milorad Rajovic subbed on late in the contest, and quickly made an impact after producing a chance that was narrowly saved by Columbia's Alejandro Munoz.

The Cliff fall to 0-2 on the season, and will hit the road to Wichita, KS, this Saturday for a non-conference match up against Friends University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
