The Charger men's soccer team earned their first victory of the season, defeating the Falcons of Friends University 3-1 behind

Â
In the early moments of the contest, Mustafa Bilge Diya received a pass at midfield and made a turn with the ball towards the attacking side of the field. Diya sent a pass to
Flynn Kopp who found
Hugo Mariage just outside the box for a chance. Mariage shot attempt was blocked by the Falcon's goalkeeper Aron Ponce, but Buchanan played the rebound and scored to give BCU a 1-0 lead early.

Â
Buchanan was fouled by the Falcon's defender inside the box, and scored on the penalty kick to put BCU back on top 2-1.
Â
Filip Peters in the 64
th minute put the Chargers up 3-1 after he scored off an assist from Buchanan.
Â
In his second start for the Blue and Gold, goalkeeper

Finlay Skilling helped limit the Falcons to the lone goal.Â
The Cliff earned the advantage on shots (13-11), shots on goal (6-4), and corner kicks (3-2).Â
Â
"It was great for Andrew and Filip to get on the score sheet again for us," said Schuster. "We'll recover and get back to work on Monday."
Â
The Chargers move to 1-2 on the season, and continue their non-conference slate as they host the Bruins of Bellevue University next Wednesday on Faber Field with kick-off slated for 3:30 p.m.
