The Charger women's basketball team earned a road victory over Hastings 69-61 Saturday afternoon.
Konnor Sudmann scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds while shooting eight-for-13 from the field in the contest.
Payton Slaughter added 16 points and knocked down four threes in the contest to go with six steals.
Kennedy Benne added 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
The Charger defense held the Broncos to 32% from the field and 22% from three. The forced 19 turnovers in the contest.

Hastings opened the contest knocking down a three and a basket to take a quick 5-0 lead. Briar Cliff responded with a 10-0 run powered by a three from Slaughter and a layup from Sudmann. A jumper by
Rachel Langel the ensuing possession pushed the lead to seven.

The Broncos bounced back in the second quarter, outscoring the Cliff 16-7 to take a four-point lead heading into intermission. In the third, the Charger offense exploded, outscoring the Broncos 21-8, as Slaughter scored eight points in the quarter on 50% shooting. In the quarter alone, the Charger defense forced six turnovers. They led by as many as 12 late in the quarter after
Mallie McNair scored on a layup.

The Chargers improve to 18-8 (13-7 GPAC) and will travel next Wednesday to take on the Jimmies of Jamestown. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
