George Punches His Ticket For Nationals

SEWARD, Neb. – Senior Wilton George qualified for the NAIA National Championships in the 60-meter hurdles as the Briar Cliff University men's indoor track & field team competed at the Bulldog Early Bird Meet.

In the 60m hurdles, George ran an NAIA "B" time of 8.15 to place first in the prelims.  In the final, he hit the "A" standard and broke his own school record in winning with a time of 8.03.  That is currently the second fastest time in the country.

George was runner-up in the 200m dash (22.53) and sixth in the 60m dash (6.96).

Freshman James Nagle finished seventh in the mile with a PR of 4:51.86.  Senior Daryl Moppins recorded PRs in the 60 and 200m dashes.

Briar Cliff is off until Saturday, Jan. 11, competing at the Dordt Open in Sioux Center, Iowa.
