The Briar Cliff and Dakota Wesleyan men's soccer teams played to a 1-1 draw Wednesday at Memorial Field.
It took until nearly 25 minutes into the second half for Dakota Wesleyan to open the scoring. A low driving Tiger corner kick ended up with Tristin Hendricks who found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. The Chargers responded quickly, however, as Hugo Miariage forced a turnover in the midfield that led to a goal from Nicolas Karlsen, assisted by Mariage.
Pablo Garica-Pola Coppen put a shot on net off a free kick in the 81
st minute. The Chargers held the Tigers without a shot attempt after their goal.
Karlsen took three shots to lead the Cliff with two on frame.
Andrew Buchanan took two shots with one on goal. Coppen,
Mick Beinhauer and
Filip Peters each put a shot on frame.
Hjalmar Nilsson allowed one goal while making three saves in 90 minutes in net.
Briar Cliff moves to 5-2-1 on the year and 2-0-1 in GPAC play.
The Chargers will travel to Yankton, South Dakota on Sunday for a meeting with Mount Marty. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
