The Briar Cliff men's soccer team traveled to Yankton, South Dakota Sunday and earned their third GPAC win of the season. Antoni Llull Plomer scored a career high three goals, as he led the team to a 7-3 win.
Plomer scored his first goal as the Chargers were tied 1-1 with the Lancers. Jasper van der Molen dribbled his way up field past defenders, sent a perfect pass to Plomer who bounced it off his chest and tapped it into the net for the goal.
After a Mount Marty goal, the game was tied at 2-2. BC pushed the ball downfield, as Alex Johnson weaved his way through a swarm of Mount Marty defenders. Johnson assisted Plomer toward the net who kicked it past the keeper to put the Chargers up 3-2. Briar Cliff held a 5-2 lead in the second half as Magnus Ammundsen charged upfield and sent a pass in the middle of two Lancer defenders, Plomer tracked the ball toward the goal and tapped it in for his third goal of the match.
Pablo Garcia-Pola Coppen scored the first goal of the game at the 23-minute mark. Ammundsen had a goal in the 53rd minute, while Andrew Buchanan scored in the 60th minute. Filip Peters netted the final goal of the match in the 89th minute, assisted by Milorad Rajovic.
The Chargers totaled 14 shots on goal in the match and took four corner kicks.
Mount Marty put together three goals, with five shots on goal and were awarded three corner kicks.
Briar Cliff will head back home for their next match against Hastings. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Memorial Field.
