The Briar Cliff women's soccer team came out on top this Sunday with a victory of 4-3 against Doane in Crete, Nebraska. The Chargers improve to 4-3-2 (3-2-1 GPAC) on the season.
 
"We had some fantastic goals and a lot of involvement from multiple players," said head coach Gabrielle Parks. "There are a lot of positives out of the day and happy to come away with three points on the road."

In the first three minutes of play, Sadie Jones sent the ball down field to Hannah Shuttleworth who put it over the keepers head for her fifth goal of the season. In the 21^st minute, the Chargers raced past the Tiger defenders down field as Sina Mori dribbled the ball towards the net and scored for the Chargers second goal of the game. 
 
Doane scored in the 24^th minute before the half to tie the match at two. In the 56th minute, the Chargers stole the ball from the Tigers, and Addison Frisch drove past the goalie for second goal of the week. Gemma White followed in the 62^nd minute with a header for the Cliff's fourth goal and was assisted by Shuttleworth. 
 
The Charger lead was cut to 4-3 in the 82^nd minute, but the Charger defense would hold strong and not allow another Doane shot.
 
Briar Cliff took 15 shots with 11 on goal and was awarded six corner kicks in the match.  
 
White and Shuttleworth led the Chargers with three and two shots on goal, respectively. Jaime Rowlands protected the net with four saves. 
 
The Chargers will head to Caniglia Field Wednesday to face College of St. Mary. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
