Box Score The #18 Briar Cliff women's basketball team snagged their third consecutive win as they handled Midland 71-60 in Fremont, Nebraska on Wednesday evening.

Peyton Wingert led the Chargers with 21 and 14 points, respectively.

In the first 10 minutes, the swarming Charger defense forced eight Midland turnovers and scored five points off those turnovers.
Madisyn Rogan led the way for the Chargers knocking down two 3-point shots and scoring 6 points. BC went on a 10-3 run to push the lead to 16-10 near the end of the first quarter.

The teams were all knotted up in the second quarter scoring 16 points apiece. The Chargers went on another 10-3 run to start the second 10 minutes, but Midland stayed with single-digits of BC's lead. The Cliff gathered 13 total rebounds (four offensive) in the second quarter compared to the Warriors' eight. The Chargers held a four-point lead heading into the halftime break.

Briar Cliff made the necessary adjustments heading into the third quarter as they outscored Midland 24-14. The Cliff opened the quarter with 15-5 run fueled by Kaegen Held, who netted three consecutive 3-point shots in just over one minute. Heading into the final stretch of the ballgame, the Charger pushed their lead to 56-42.

The Chargers put on a rebounding clinic in the fourth quarter gathering 14 total rebounds and six offensive rebounds. Held scored another six points in the last 10 minutes and eight different Chargers scored in the contest. Following the 71-60 win, the Chargers now boast a record of 16-5 (11-3 GPAC).

Briar Cliff held the advantage in total rebounds (46-31) and offensive rebounds (17-6).

Held paced the Chargers with 21 points on 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range along with four rebounds. Wingert scored 14 points, gathered seven rebounds and tallied four assists while Rogan added 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from deep.
Konnor Sudmann stayed active on both sides of the ball recording six points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

The Charger women return home to the Newman Flanagan Center on Saturday afternoon as they take on the Tigers of Dakota Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m.
