The Briar Cliff men's basketball team received a National Association of Basketball Coaches' Team Academic Excellence Award, while seven athletes were named to the NABC's Honor Court Tuesday morning.

Conner Groves,
Andrew Gibb,
Jaden Kleinhesselink,
Nick Hoyt,
Quinn Vesey and
Quinten Vasa were recognized on the NABC Honors Court.
The NABC Honors Court consists of student-athletes who are academically a junior, senior or graduate student who held a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The Chargers were all awarded a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for holding a team cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
"I'm really proud of our guys, both individually for the seven guys who made the Honors Court, but also collectively as a team to be recognized with an academic award, which speaks to our guys progress in the classroom." said head coach
Mark Svagera. "I think it is really impressive when you have on court success and double that by being outstanding student-athletes. It speaks volumes to the types of young men that we have in our program."

The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
