Briar Cliff men's basketball drew Bethel (Kan.) in the 2022 NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Opening Round, presented by Ballogy. 
 
The Charger men received an automatic bid to the tournament as the GPAC Regular Season Champions and are 19-11 overall (15-5 GPAC). The Chargers are the #12 seed in the Cramer Quadrant and are making their 25th appearance at the national tournament. The Threshers also earned an auto bid by finishing second in the KCAC regular season standings. Bethel went 26-7 (19-5 KCAC) and are making their second straight tournament appearance.
