The Charger softball team poured in 22 runs in a sweep over Lyon Thursday in Battesville, Arkansas. They won 12-4 in game one, and followed up with a 10-2 win in game two.
Game 1 - W, 12-4
The Chargers got on the board early in the top of the first, scoring three runs.
Georgia Krohn hit a sac-fly to drive in

Josie Chronic scored on a wild pitch shortly after.
Aubrey Chichurka grounded out to first but scored
Kylee Lukes to score on the play.
Lyon scored three runs through two innings of play to tie it at 3-3. In the top of the third, the Charger offense would erupt, scoring eight runs in the half inning. The Charger offense went through the entire batting order.. Krohn went two-for-two in the inning and drove in two runs. The Chargers led 11-4 after three innings.
The Chargers added an insurance run in the top of the fourth, as
Jessica James scored on a groundout by
Callie Billings. The Chargers took a 12-4 lead and held on to take game one.
Krohn was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBIs. Chronic went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and scored two runs.
Morgan Jones took the win in the circle, going 3.2 innings while giving up one earned run.
Game 2 - W, 10-2
The Chargers took a commanding lead in game two, leading 8-0 after the first two innings. Cupples got the scoring started after she stole home. Krohn during the eight-run inning drove in three runs off two hits. James hit a triple in the second inning, driving in three runs.
In the fifth inning,
Veronica Pitzl scored off a wild pitch and gave the Chargers a 9-0 lead. Lyon drove in two runs in the fifth to cut into the lead 9-2. In the top of the seventh,
Veronica Pitzl singled, driving in Billings to extend the lead 10-2. The Chargers defense rolled a double play in the bottom of the seventh to close out the game.
Sydney Lierman was 3-for-4 at the plate while Lukes went 2-for-4 and scored two runs. Kayla Gurrero takes the win, going six innings with three strike outs and gave up one earned run.
The Chargers improve to 8-7 overall and will travel to Columbia, Missouri to take on Missouri Valley College and Stephens in back-to-back games on Sunday. First pitch against Missouri Valley is set for 11 AM while the game against Stephens is set for 1 PM.
