GPAC Championship wins by
Ben Jefferies and
Wilton George highlighted the Briar Cliff track and field team's appearance at the GPAC Championships Saturday in Seward, Nebraska.

George hit the NAIA 'A' qualifying standard in 10.58 seconds in the 100-meter race.
Ryan Kotey was just behind him, finishing in 10.71 for fourth place.

Jefferies ran a 48.08-second race to win the 400-meter title. Jefferies was second in the 200-meters, hitting the NAIA 'A' standard in 21.36. Kotey also hit the 'A' standard in the 200, finishing third in 21.41.

George also had a strong showing in the 110-meter high hurdles. After qualifying for the finals in sixth place, he jumped two spots to finish fourth and make the NAIA 'B' provisional standard in 14.91 seconds.Â

Jesikah Boykin had the highest finish for the BC women, taking third in the 400-meter race in 1:00.58. She also just missed finals in the 200 with a 10th-place finish.
Isabel Sayler was tenth in the triple jump.Â

Tulsa Janish clocked in at 11.17 in the 100-meter dash to take 10th place. George was ninth in the 200 and Janish was 12th.Â

The men's 4x100 was fourth and 4x400 was second.Â

The Briar Cliff men's squad finished sixth out of 11 teams and just behind #10 Midland. The women were 11th.Â

"We had a great GPAC meet," said head coach
Scott Barnes. "We added three events to the national list, with Ryan (one) and Wilton (two). We will look to shape a few things up at the last chance meet and hope to get a few more events in.Â
