Briar Cliff wrestling cruised past Jamestown Thursday 40-3 in the Newman Flanagan Center. The dual featured three Chargers pins, two major decisions and one tech fall.
The dual began at the 125-lbs weight class, and the Cliff started strong with Caron Watson winning by fall at 4:50 over Eli Barajas. Watson is ranked second in the GPAC and ninth in the NAIA. Gabe Howard won by a 14-10 decision at 133-lbs, and BC took a 9-0 lead.
Ethan Krey is ranked fourth in the conference and won by a 10-5 decision over Tommy Beringer who ranks fifth at 141-lbs.
Jesus Murillo took the lone match for the Jimmies over
Ben Peters at 149-lbs.
Andrew Shea responded at 157-lbs for BC with a 10-0 major decision as the Cliff lead 16-3.
Garrett Arment followed Shea's major decision with one of his own winning 9-0.
Jake Leicht notched the second pin at 1:15 in the 174-lb class.
Jeremiah Glise, ranked #18 in the NAIA, dominated his bout at 184-lb with a tech fall 21-3 over Cullen Glatt. At 197, Jon Garcia tallied the third fall for BC at 2:20 over Josh Goeden, Unranked
Ashton Brecht closed out the dual with an 10-7 decision over Ian Howell who is fifth in the GPAC at 285-lbs.
The Chargers will return to the Newman Flanagan Center for the final time next Thursday for a Senior Day matchup against Dakota Wesleyan.
