BC football went on the road to Dakota Wesleyan Saturday and fell 26-7 in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Kobe Johnson put the only points on the board for the Chargers, hauling in an 18-yard pass from
Cayden Mitchell in the fourth quarter.
Â
The Charger offense managed only 87 total yards in the contest, averaging 1.9 yards per play. Mitchell went 4-for-16 and threw two picks with one touchdown.
King Waller was the Cliff's leading rusher with 46 net yards.
Â
Defensively,
Asi Tupua registered six tackles for the Cliff.
MJ Montgomery and
Robert Robinson had five and four tackles, respectively, and managed one sack each. Robinson also had three pass breakups.Â
Â
"Our defense spent too much time on the field this afternoon," said head coach
Dennis Wagner. "DWU did a great job keeping drives alive and our offensive efficiency was poor. The offensive line was too inconsistent. We will need to regroup and prepare for next week."
Â
DWU found the end zone three times in the contest and went 2-for-3 on field goal tries. The long field goal miss was blocked by BC, but a penalty negated the play and gave the Tigers the ball back.Â
Â
Zachary Lester was 14-for-28 passing for Dakota Wesleyan and the home team's offense was led by Jamin Arend who had a team-high 98 rushing yards and 48 receiving yards.Â
