BC football went on the road to Dakota Wesleyan Saturday and fell 26-7 in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Kobe Johnson put the only points on the board for the Chargers, hauling in an 18-yard pass from
Cayden Mitchell in the fourth quarter.
The Charger offense managed only 87 total yards in the contest, averaging 1.9 yards per play. Mitchell went 4-for-16 and threw two picks with one touchdown.
King Waller was the Cliff's leading rusher with 46 net yards.
Defensively,
Asi Tupua registered six tackles for the Cliff.
MJ Montgomery and
Robert Robinson had five and four tackles, respectively, and managed one sack each. Robinson also had three pass breakups.
"Our defense spent too much time on the field this afternoon," said head coach
Dennis Wagner. "DWU did a great job keeping drives alive and our offensive efficiency was poor. The offensive line was too inconsistent. We will need to regroup and prepare for next week."
DWU found the end zone three times in the contest and went 2-for-3 on field goal tries. The long field goal miss was blocked by BC, but a penalty negated the play and gave the Tigers the ball back.
Zachary Lester was 14-for-28 passing for Dakota Wesleyan and the home team's offense was led by Jamin Arend who had a team-high 98 rushing yards and 48 receiving yards.
