Nathan Koziol has been named Head Coach for the Briar Cliff Football Program on March of 2026.

Koziol began his collegiate coaching career at NCAA Division II Minot State University, serving as a graduate assistant from 2016–2018 before being promoted to full-time defensive backs coach in 2018. During his time there, he coached two All-NSIC selections, including Kiante Goudeau, who ranks second all-time in interceptions and first in defensive touchdowns in program history.

From 2019–2020, Koziol served as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach at Division III Loras College, where his units produced two All-ARC honorees and led the conference in takeaways.

He joined Briar Cliff in 2021 as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach, where he coached All-GPAC kicker Jonathan Branner, the program’s all-time leader in field goals made. Koziol was promoted to associate head coach and defensive coordinator in 2023.

Under his leadership, the Charger defense has produced six All-GPAC selections, set school records for sacks, and posted the program’s lowest points allowed per game since 2019 while tying a school record for wins in a season.

Koziol played quarterback and wide receiver collegiately, earned his bachelor’s degree from Loras College, and earned his master’s degree from Minot State University.

Koziol and his wife Carly have one son named Cooper.
