Briar Cliff University

Curtis Lilly is in his first season as assistant coach with the Briar Cliff football program will be responsible for coaching the running backs. Lilly’s coaching experience includes football, basketball and track as he was the head boy’s track coach at Bellevue East High School in Bellevue, Nebraska last year while also coaching the Mission Middle School football team in the Bellevue School District. Prior to Bellevue, Lilly was an assistant football coach at Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson High School where they were the 2008 Missouri River Valley Champions and led Class 4A in rushing yards with 3968. From 2007-08, Lilly served as the defensive line coach at Waldorf College and was head football coach at Santa Fe Trail High School from 2006-07. He was head football and boys track coach and assistant boy’s basketball coach at Remsen-Union High School from 2001-06.

Lilly has college and semi-pro football experience as a player as he was the center and long snapper at East Mississippi Community College from 1982-83. He then moved on to Pillsbury Baptist Bible College where he was Second Team Upper Midwest Collegiate Conference defensive player in 1984. Lilly was the starting tight end for the Iowa Sharks from 2006-08 and 2011 and was part of the 2008 Central States Semi-Pro Football League championship team.
