Paul Cox

Paul Cox has been the head coach of the Briar Cliff women's soccer team since January of 2018.

The Chargers went 11-8 in 2019 and 7-5 in conference play. The squad finished fifth in the conference standings and ended the season with a loss in the conference semifinals. In his first season at the helm, Cox guided the team to a 9-9-2 overall record and 8-4 GPAC mark with a fifth-place finish in the regular season league standings. In 2018, the Chargers advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament for the first time since 2014. 

Prior to the Cliff, Cox had most recently been the director of coaching for the Blair Football Club in Blair, Nebraska. He was in charge of directing and evaluating a coaching staff of 38 members and relaying constant feedback for improvement. Cox was also responsible for obtaining and implementing a world class curriculum with global partner Southampton FC amongst 19 competitive teams.

Cox also has GPAC experience, serving as an assistant coach for the Midland University men’s and women’s soccer teams. He was with Midland from 2013-2018 and had multiple responsibilities as an assistant coach, academic advisor and human performance professor. Cox’s coaching duties with the Warriors were head goalkeeping coach for the women, assist with planning and executing training sessions with the varsity and help in recruiting. 

Cox earned his USSF 'C' License in 2018.
