Howard Sturgeon

Howard Sturgeon joined the Charger women’s soccer team in August of 2021.

Sturgeon was a part of the Charger coaching staff that guided the women's soccer team to its first GPAC Tournament Championship in 2021, as well as helping guide the program to an undefeated GPAC Regular Season in 2022 with a 10-0-2 record. During Sturgeon's time with the Chargers, he has helped lead the program to back-to-back appearances at the NAIA National Tournament. The team has never dropped outside of the NAIA Coaches National Rankings amassing an overall record of 28-6-5 as assistant coach. 

As a player Sturgeon was an A.I.I All-Conference selection in 2017, and Waldorf was crowned A.I.I Conference Champions and competed at the 2017 NAIA National Tournament for the first time in program history during his first season as a Warrior. He was honored to the Dean's list on three occasions between Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.

Sturgeon received a double bachelor's degree in business management and sport management from Waldorf University. After graduating in 2019, Sturgeon held positions in California, Texas and London, England before joining the Charger's coaching staff. He is currently pursuing a double master's degree in leadership and human resource management.

Sturgeon is pursuing his USSF 'D' License coaching qualification. He currently holds an FA Level 2 Coaching license from the United Kingdom.
