Angela Kristensen is currently in her second season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Briar Cliff University. In her first year, Kristensen helped guide the Cliff to the national tournament and a 23-10 record and 14-8 conference record.

Kristensen joined BCU after serving as the head coach of Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California from 2013-15. Her longest coaching stint was at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah as their head coach from 2006-2013. She coached Dixie State to the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II tournament berth in 2011, going 24-4 where the Bison were ranked as high as 10th in the nation during the year. She also led Dixie State to six consecutive winning seasons, including second place finishes in the Pacific West Conference in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Kristensen was the head coach of College of Saint Mary in Omaha, Nebraska from 2002-2006 and guided the Flames to a 71-60 overall record in four seasons, including a then school record of 22 victories in 2006 with the team advancing to the NAIA national tournament. During her time at Saint Mary, she was named Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2003-2004. Prior to becoming a head coach, Kristensen was an assistant coach at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri from 2001-2002 and she served as the graduate assistant at NMSU from 2000-01.

Kristensen is a Briar Cliff graduate where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999. She was a two-year player for the Chargers and helped the team reach the NAIA national tournament in both seasons. Kristensen also holds a Masters of Science in education from Northwest Missouri State.
