2012-13: In his first year with the Charger basketball program.

HS:  First team all-state selection...led Iowa Class 2A in scoring as a senior with 25.2 ppg and was seventh in all classes in scoring... team captain and 1000-point club member... shot 51.5 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc (67 three-pointers)...also averaged 7.3 rpg, handed out 63 assists and collected 47 steals, senior year...knocked down eight three-pointers as he scored a school-record 42 points in a 56-44 win over Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn... led the Wolverines to a 17-5 record... as a junior, averaged 15.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg, earned first team all-district and all-conference honors and was named his team's overall MVP and offensive MVP...finished his basketball career at South O'Brien as the school's all-time leader in points in a career, in a season and in a game...played AAU basketball for the Iowa Mavericks...was a 16-time varsity letterwinner for the Wolverines of South O'Brien (four each in football, baseball, basketball and track)...was a second team all-state football selection as a junior and a first team selection as a senior...two-time state track participant...member of honor roll, FCA and LYC.

PERSONAL: Son of Randy and Julie Paulsen…marketing and finance major…has been playing basketball his whole life…would like to try playing lacrosse if in basketball…favorite snack is Oreos…enjoys listening to Eminem.
