Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor serves as a defensive assistant for the Briar Cliff football program.

Taylor brings a wide range of collegiate and high school coaching experience to the Chargers, including multiple coordinator roles across both sides of the ball. Prior to his current role at Briar Cliff, he served as defensive coordinator at Sioux City East High School, Alfred State College, Bethany College, and Briar Cliff. He also served as offensive coordinator at Eureka College and interim head coach at Bethany College. His coaching experience includes time as a defensive line coach and special teams coordinator at Morningside University, offensive line coach for the Salina Bombers (IFL), and assistant coach at McGill-Toolen High School.

As a student-athlete, Taylor played offensive line at Sterling College (Kan.), where he also earned his bachelor's degree. He later earned his master’s degree in sports science from the United States Sports Academy.

In addition to his coaching duties, Taylor serves as the athletic director and is a teacher at East Middle School in Sioux City. He and his wife, Trace, have one daughter, Maggie.
