Briar Cliff University

Brian Wehler is in his first year as an assistant coach with the Briar Cliff football program.  Wehler will serve as the team's wide receivers' coach this season.  He came to Briar Cliff after working  as the wide receiver coach for the 2010 and 2011 seasons at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, California.  Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for tightends, wide receivers, and running backs at Shasta College for three years.  While there, he helped guide Shasta to the program's first conference and division titles in 58 years.  Wehler has also coached semi-pro football, serving as the offensive coordinator for the Shasta Longhorns of the PCFL in 2009.  The Saint Mary's, Penn. native went into the army following high school and then went on to graduate from Simpson University in 2003.  He began master's classes at Concordia University in 2011 and is now enrolled in Briar Cliff's graduate program. When recruiting, Wehler will focus on the state of California.
