In the effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Briar Cliff University will be implementing new protocols for spectators at athletics events. Due to the fluid nature of the pandemic, these protocols may be changed at any time.
FACE COVERINGS
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) is requiring face coverings (e.g., face mask, face shield, neck gaiter) for all spectators upon entry and for the duration of every event. Individuals not wearing a face covering will be denied entry to the venue and may be removed from the event. Face coverings will not be provided, spectators are required to bring their own.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
Spectators are expected to remain socially distanced from other family units. “Family units” are people who live together in the same household.
HEALTH SCREENING
All spectators at BCU athletics events are required to complete an electronic confidential health screening form via Charger Health Check on the day of the event. The instructions to access Charger Health Check are: Send a text (SMS) message that says: BCU VISITOR to the phone number 58052.
The user will receive an automated reply with the Charger Health Check link. After successful completion (no symptoms disclosed) the visitor will be issued a GREEN pass in their mobile browser and will receive a confirmation via email. Visitors are required to show this pass prior to entering the venue. YELLOW and RED passes will NOT be allowed entry. Please do not travel to the venue without a GREEN pass first. (Note that completion of the Charger Health Check requires a current temperature reading of each spectator). Children under the age of 14 who are accompanied by an adult are not required to do the Charger Health Check.
Memorial Field (Football)
CAPACITY
Spectator capacity at Memorial Field will be limited. Tickets must be purchased online at BCUChargers.com/Tickets to ensure entry.
ADMISSIONS COST
Adults - $8.00, Students - $3.00, GPAC Students & Employees – Free
Tickets must be purchased online ahead of time at bcuchargers.com/tickets. Tickets will NOT be sold at the gate.
TAILGATING
There will be no tailgating allowed at the venue.
ENTRANCE
Parking lots and entry gates will open 60 minutes prior to the start of the contest. Please see the attached map for parking lot directions. All other entrances will be locked.
The parking lot off of W 14th Street at the southeast corner of Memorial Field is the only parking lot available for spectators. The gate on the southeast corner is the only stadium entrance that will be open for spectators. Handicap parking is available on the north side of the stadium and is marked on the map. An entrance near the handicap lot will be available only for spectators using handicap parking.
SEATING
Spectators are asked to sit in their designated areas as indicated on the seating map.
- BCU fans will sit in the main grandstand on the north side of the stadium and the bleachers to the northwest corner of the stadium near the shelter.
- BCU football players that do no dress for Saturday’s contest will sit in the bleachers on the northeast end of the stadium nearest the locker rooms.
- Visiting fans will sit in the south bleachers behind their team’s sideline.
CONCESSIONS
The concessions stand will be closed. There will be a food truck with various food items available to spectators.
Faber Field (Soccer)
CAPACITY
There will be no limit on the number of spectators in attendance. Spectators are required to bring their own seating and find a comfortable spot that is distanced from other family units. “Family units” are people who reside together in the same household. The bleachers will be removed.
ADMISSION COST
There will be no charge for admission to regular season soccer matches.
Newman Flanagan Center (Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling)
CAPACITY
Spectator capacity in the Newman Flanagan Center will be limited. Tickets must be purchased online at BCUChargers.com/Tickets to ensure entry.
- The BCU student section (Blue Crew) will be positioned around the entire second level balcony to keep students distanced and to enhance the gameday atmosphere. Students must reserve their tickets online at BCUChargers.com/Tickets. 75 free tickets have been allocated to the Blue Crew.
- Gold Seat season ticket sales will be limited. Gold Seat holders for the 2020-2021 season will be guaranteed entry for every volleyball and basketball contest. Please contact the BCU Athletics Department for more information.
