The Briar Cliff women's soccer team battled Morningside University to a 0-0 draw Wednesday afternoon at Faber Field, moving to 4-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in GPAC play
The Chargers created several scoring opportunities throughout the match, finishing with 13 shots and five on goal. Morningside recorded 11 shots with four on target.
Caitlin Anderholm turned in a strong performance in goal, recording four saves to help secure the shutout.
Briar Cliff's best chances came from
Abby Derbyshire, who recorded six shots, including one on goal, while
Ondine Manceau added two shots on target.
Ellen Lofsjogard also put one shot on frame.
Neither team was able to break through in the second half, despite the Chargers putting pressure on the Morningside defense late.
The Chargers return to action Saturday, September 26 traveling to Fremont, NE, to take on the Midland Warriors. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
