The Briar Cliff women's volleyball team was tabbed ninth in the GPAC Preseason Poll, announced early Monday morning. The Chargers posted a 10-17 overall record and a 4-12 mark in GPAC play last season.
Northwestern topped the poll with 120 points and 10 first-place votes, followed by Concordia with 109 points and two first-place votes. Dakota Wesleyan rounded out the top three with 96 points.
Juniors
Aubrey Hoeft and
Brooklyn Voss both return for the Chargers after earning all-conference honors last season. Hoeft led the Chargers with 141.0 total blocks, averaging 1.47 blocks per set, while also recording 77 kills on the season. Voss followed with 123 total blocks at 1.31 blocks per set and added 117 kills.
Senior setters
Kylie Hart and
Reese Strouth also return for the Chargers this fall. Hart led the Briar Cliff offense last season with 423 assists, averaging 4.45 assists per set. She also recorded 130 digs and 18 service aces. Strouth added 3.37 assists per set for the Chargers, along with 97 digs and 17 kills.
The Chargers will open the 2026 season this Saturday, August 15, when they host Avila and Peru State at the Newman Flanagan Center. Briar Cliff will take on Avila at noon before facing Peru State at 4 p.m.
