The Briar Cliff women's volleyball team earned a hard-fought five-set victory over Waldorf Saturday afternoon inside the Newman Flanagan Center.
The Chargers took the opening set 28-26 before dropping the second 15-25. Briar Cliff responded with a strong 25-23 win in the third and sealed the match with a 15-9 fifth-set triumph.
Emma Brenelli led the Chargers offensively with 11 kills, while
Caton Firkins added seven, and
Brooklyn Voss chipped in five.
Aubrey Hoeft made her presence felt at the net, tallying six kills and seven blocks.Â
Setter
Kylie Hart guided the offense with 19 assists and contributed two service aces.
Reese Strouth added 18 assists and 14 digs in the victory.Â
Avery Beller anchored the back row with a team-high 24 digs. She was followed by
Joana Neves with 20.
In the Charger victory, they recorded 14 blocks and 5 service aces.
The Chargers return to action Tuesday, Nov. 4, hosting the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m. in the Newman Flanagan Center.
