The 16
th-ranked Briar Cliff women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance Thursday night, inside the Newman Flanagan Center, rolling past the Waldorf Warriors 104-41 in GPAC action.

The Chargers wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a 25-14 lead after the first quarter. BCU continued to pour it on in the second period, outscoring the Warriors 28-6 to take a commanding 53-20 advantage going into the half.  The momentum carried into the third, where the Chargers erupted for 34 points, holding Waldorf to just six. Briar Cliff maintained control through the fourth to secure the win.Â

Abby Lee led the way for BCU, pouring in 16 points on an efficient 5-of-10 shooting from the field and knocking down two triples. She also tallied eight rebounds and three steals in the win.
Mallie McNair followed with 14 points and six rebounds, while
Natalie Tietjen chipped in 12 points and two assists.
Brooklyn Heineman contributed eight points and six assists, and
Kenna Mongan added eight points and three assists.Â

13 Chargers were able to find the scoring column in the victory. BCU shot 46.3% from the field and an impressive 40% from beyond the arc. Briar Cliff also won the rebounding battle 50-29 and forced 27 Waldorf turnovers, converting them into a 21-2 advantage in points off turnovers.

Briar Cliff now sits 16-4 overall and 10-4 in GPAC. The Chargers return to action Saturday, January 24, heading to Hastings, NE, to take on Hastings College. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
