The Charger football team fell 58-17 to the 3
rd ranked Morningside Mustangs Saturday afternoon on memorial field.

The Mustangs took an early 17-0 lead in the second quarter as Zack Chevalier connected with Drew Sellon for a long touchdown pass.

On Morningside's second drive of the contest,
Johnny Bauser picked off Chevalier to give Briar Cliff the ball inside the opposing team's 47-yard line. A 21-yard pass from
Brock Saya to
Kymani Fleurme put the Chargers in the redzone to open the drive. The Chargers drive would stall out and
Jacob Myers 29-yard field goal attempt went through the uprights to cut the lead to 17-3.

The Cliff with 2:22 remaining in the first half drove 78 yards for a touchdown to trail 24-10 heading into the break.
Nicholas Norman began the drive with a 31-yard run to bring the ball to the Morningside 47-yard line. A face mask penalty led to a 1
st and goal from the two and Norman punched it in for the rushing touchdown.

BCU late in the third quarter scored on a 59-yard passing touchdown from Saya to
Chase Thomas to bring the score to 38-17.

Saya went 30-of-42 passing for 352 yards and one touchdown.
Kymani Fleurme led the team in receiving with 11 catches for 143 yards. Thomas finished with three catches for 73 yards while
Ezra Heiner finished with six catches for 57 yards.

Norman finished the contest with seven rushes for 38 yards.

Kyle Gibson paced the Chargers in tackles with 10.

The Chargers move to 1-1 (0-1 GPAC) and will return to Memorial Field next Saturday, as they host the Hastings Broncos. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
