The Charger men's soccer team dropped a narrow 3-2 contest to the 9
th ranked Bellevue Bruins on Faber Field Wednesday afternoon.
The Chargers went on the attack early in the match, as Alejandro found the back of the net from an assist from
David Sauter in the third minute.
The Bruins quickly responded with a goal in the fourth minute from Samuel Puth.
Bellevue would take a 2-1 advantage in the 16
th minute with a goal from Jeremiah Hteh.
The Cliff would tie the game in the 78
th minute, as Illan scored his second goal of the match off an assist from Gabriel Hernadez Les.
The Bruins would regain the lead in the 81
st minute with a goal from Kyi Nicholson.
Both teams were even in shots in the contest with 13. BCU held the advantage on corner kicks 4-3.
Xabier Ilundain recorded four saves in the match. Illan recorded five shots with three on goal.
Leon Hesselbarth recorded three shots in the match.
The Chargers fall to 2-2 and will travel to University Park, Illinois September 10, for a match against Governors State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
