The Charger men's soccer team defeated the RV Jaguars of Governors State 1-0 Wednesday afternoon at University Park, Illinois.
After a scoreless first half, the Chargers scored on in the 55
th minute, as
Alejandro Illan scored off an assist from
David Sauter.
In the 81
st minute, the Jaguars looked to score the equalizer, but goalie
Xabier Ilundain recorded a save.
The Chargers held a slim advantage in shots 15-14 in the match. Ilundain recorded two saves in the clean sheet. BC also held the advantage in corner kicks 7-5.
David Sauter led the team in shots with three followed by
Aime Oettler's two.
Pablo Gonzalez and
David Utsi-Grinde each recorded two shots.
The Chargers improved to 3-2 on the season and till travel to Bellevue, Nebraska this Saturday as they take on the Bruins of Bellevue. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
