The 5
th ranked Charger women's basketball team fell 54-77 to the top ranked Dordt Defenders Tuesday evening in the GPAC Championship game in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Dordt took early control of the contest, outscoring BCU 23-8 after one quarter of play. The Chargers shot 30% from the field in the opening frame. The Defenders shot 50% from the field in the contest and went nine-for-17 from three. Briar Cliff struggled from the field, shooting 38% from the field.

Kennedy Benne paced the Chargers with 11 points and grabbed five rebounds while recording two assists.
Grace Flanagan chipped in nine points and went three-for-four from three.
Brooklyn Heineman added eight points and went three-for-four from the field.

The Chargers fall to 26-5 (18-4 GPAC) and will wait for the NAIA Selection show to find out their first-round opponent for the NAIA National Tournament. Briar Cliff University has been selected as a host site for the opening rounds of the tournament on March 14-15.
