The Charger women's basketball team advance to the round of eight of the NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament after defeating Mid-America Christian 80-64 inside the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Mallie McNair poured in a game high 27 points and shot 50% from the field and went four-for-six from three.

Grace Flanagan opened the contest by knocking down back-to-back three pointers. A three from McNair and a layup from
Kennedy Benne gave BCU a 11-4 lead with 7:38 to play in the quarter and forced a MACU timeout. BCU led by as many as 14 in the frame following a bucket from
Adrianna Webster.

McNair continued her strong start, scoring the Chargers first six points of the second quarter. With a little over a minute to play in the half,
Taylor Sodeman checked drilled two threes and gave the Chargers a 40-23 lead.

Sodeman finished the contest with 16 points and shot six-for-11 from the field and three-for-five from beyond-the-arc. Sodeman also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Webster finished with 12 points and was an efficient six-for-seven from the field. Flanagan finished with nine points on a perfect three-for-three from long range.
Kennedy Benne and
Kenna Mongan both chipped in six points.

The Chargers shot 54% from three-point land and drilled 12 three pointers in the contest. They held MACU to 35% shooting from the floor and 22% from beyond-the-arc. BCU held a slim 40-39 margin on the glass. The Charger defense also forced 13 turnovers in the match up.

The Chargers improve to 29-5 overall and will take on the Jaguars of Governors State Saturday evening for the round of eight match up inside the Tyson Events Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
