The Charger track and field team were in action Friday afternoon, competing in the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet in Yankton, South Dakota.
"Great day today! Some reached peaks for their indoor season at the right time with multiple PRs this weekend. We had a total of 11 personal records today," said Head Coach Chandler Cork. "We have been battling some injuries left and right this indoor season and some are coming back from those injuries and some are still battling through them. I am very happy with the way we competed today, one more serious business trip with conference next week and then on to the outdoor season."
Wilton George finished first in the 60m with a time of 6.93 seconds.
Daryl Moppins placed fifth in the event with a mark of 7.13 seconds, reaching a new personal best. George also went on to win the 200 with a mark of 22.40 seconds. Moppins also hit a personal best in the event and finished fifth with a time of 22.95 seconds.
Jalen Cook finished third in the 400 meter with a mark of 52.13 seconds.
Muliken Wempe finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.46 meters.
Maria Russell achieved a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:52.71.
Ashley Quimiro-Rosales finished the mile with a 6:31.03 mark.

The Charger track and field team will return to action next week, as they compete at the GPAC Championships in Mitchell, South Dakota. The two-day event will begin Friday.
