In a back-and-forth contest, the 5
th ranked Chargers fell 76-74 to the Morningside Mustangs Saturday afternoon.
Both teams were neck-and-neck heading into the fourth with the Mustangs holding onto a two-point lead. The Mustangs took a seven-point lead with four minutes to go in the contest following a layup from Alexis Spier. BCU cut the lead down to one after
Kenna Mongan knocked down a three followed by a three from
Mallie McNair.

With 16 seconds left in the contest,
Grace Flanagan knocked down a three to cut the Mustang lead to one off an assist from
Kennedy Benne. The Cliff intentionally fouled the next possession, and Chaise Pfanstiel split her free throw attempts. McNair's game tying layup was no good, and the Mustangs escaped with the win.

McNair posted a double-double with a game high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She went eight-for-15 from the field and three-for-five from three-point land. Benne chipped in 11 points and recorded four steals. Flanagan finished with 14 points and knocked down four three pointers.
Adrianna Webster finished with 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
The Chargers finish the season the regular season with a 24-4 (18-4 GPAC) record and will be the third seed heading into the GPAC Tournament. They will host the sixth seeded Mustangs this Wednesday inside the Newman Flanagan Center in the quarterfinal round. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
