The Charger wrestling team returned to action Friday afternoon, competing in day one of the GPAC Wrestling Championships in Hastings, Nebraska.
Dante Rigal advanced in the tournament after receiving a bye and a forfeit win in the 125-pound bracket.
Daruiz Black progressed through the 133-pound bracket after a bye in the first round and taking a 11-0 major decision victory over Christian Ahren of Morningside.
Jarrod Gilliam earned a pin fall over Will Farren of Dakota Wesleyan after a bye in the first round.
Jackson Balmer at 165 won by pin in the quarterfinal matchup over Hastings' Israel Manriquez.
Ethan Gregg at 174 will continue in the consolation bracket after going 1-1 on the day.
Rigal, Black, Gilliam, Balmer, and Gregg will return for day two of the GPAC Wrestling Championships tomorrow in Hastings, Nebraska. The tournament is set to resume at 10 a.m.
