The Charger men's basketball team fell 98-70 to the 13
th ranked Northwestern Red Raiders inside the Newman Flanagan Center Wednesday evening.
Northwestern jumped out to a 14-3 lead early in the contest, but the Chargers clawed their way back and trailed 23-20 following an and-one play from
Matthew Stilwill. The Red Raiders went on a 11-2 run to take a 34-22 lead.
The Red Raiders continued to stay hot during the contest, converting on 57% of their field goal attempts.
Stilwill finished with 20 points and shot 50% from the field and hauled in eight rebounds and recorded two steals.
Jaxson Wingert scored 20 points and shot seven-for-11 from the field.
Jamison Helmers finished with 12 points and went five-for-nine from the floor.
The Chargers fall to 14-13 (9-10 GPAC) and will travel across town to take on the Morningside Mustangs. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
