Game one vs Dickinson State – L, 9-1
Briar Cliff committed six fielding errors in the contest and gave up six runs in the fifth inning.
The Cliff in the bottom of the third received a lead-off double from
Skylar Bainter.
Kenadee Loew laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Bainter to third base. Bainter crossed home plate off an error from Dickinson State to put Briar Cliff on the board.
Rylee Cain recorded a hit and drew a walk in the contest.
Georgia Krohn went 4.1 innings and surrendered two earned runs while striking out three.
Game two vs Minnesota Crookston – L, 10-7
The Chargers jumped on the board early against the Golden Eagles, plating three runs in the first inning.
Rylee Cain recorded a two RBI single alongside
Skylar Bainter's RBI single.
Jessica James recorded a RBI single in the top of the fourth to give BCU a 4-1 lead.
The Golden Eagles responded with six runs in the next half-inning to take a three-run lead. The Cliff responded with RBI singles from Cain and Autumn Soeter to cut the lead to one.
Persico recorded an RBI single in the top of the sixth to keep the contest close. The Chargers down to their last out in the top of the seventh were unable to capitalize and the Golden Eagles preserved the win.
Kaydence Kinder went two-for-four with one run and drew a walk in the contest. Cain finished two-for-four at the dish and drew a walk.
The Chargers fall to 1-5 and will return to action next Saturday, as they take on William Penn and Dakota State. The contest against William Penn will begin at 2 p.m. and the contest against Dakota State will begin at 4 p.m.
