CHARGERS BEAT FLAMES 87-45

The 5th ranked Charger women's basketball defeated the Flames of College of Saint Mary 87-45, Saturday afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska. The Chargers rode a hot start for their 19th victory of the season and had five players score in double figures.

Briar Cliff came out firing in the first, establishing a 27-5 lead and extending their advantage to 54-14 by halftime. The Flames struggled to generate offense against Briar Cliff's stifling defense, which forced 24 turnovers and racked up 16 steals.

The Chargers held the Flames to 30.9% shooting from the field and 23% shooting from long range. BCU dominated the rebound margin, holding a 56-29 advantage.

Taylor Sodeman led the Chargers in scoring with 14 points and shot an efficient four-for-six from three-point land. She also recorded a team high eight rebounds. Ella Reinoehl added 11 points and grabbed five rebounds while Brigid Boyle scored 11 and grabbed six rebounds.

Adrianna Webster and Mallie McNair chipped in 10 points while Kylie Sanger added eight. Kennedy Benne led the team with five steals.
The Flames were led by Freda Moore's nine points.

The Chargers improved to 19-3 (13-3 GPAC) and will return to the Newman Flanagan Center next Wednesday as they host the 16th ranked Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
